Staff spotlight: Medical Services Provider Relations Coordinator Angela Aranyosi

Provider Relations Coordinator Angela Aranyosi is passionate about always doing the right thing for the injured worker. She has been with LWCC for 11 years and works in medical services to ensure that timely, quality services are provided to workers injured on the job. Her responsibilities include working with providers to coordinate durable medical equipment, home modifications, transportation and translation services needed to ensure the best care and outcomes possible for injured workers. Angela provides assistance to some of LWCC’s most catastrophically injured workers who sometimes need extensive care outside of the state. She arranges air flight transportation and helps to ensure that the injured workers and their families are taken care of during a difficult time in their lives. Once the injured workers are discharged from the hospital, she arranges all discharge needs such as equipment, home health, wound care and any other at-home services. Angela also provides administrative support and assistance to the medical services team and makes it possible for the utilization review processes to be completed timely and efficiently.

LWCC celebrates its nurses

LWCC celebrates its nurses

LWCC celebrated Nurses Week in May by recognizing the nurses who staff our medical services team. We are fortunate to have five registered nurses in our occupational medicine department who provide clinical and technical support to the entire claims division. The company has had nurses on its claims teams for more than 20 years. LWCC formed the medical services team in 2012 to consolidate the company’s medical services when the implementation of medical treatment guidelines, new utilization review rules by the state Office of Workers’ Compensation and the emerging opioid crisis presented substantial and unique challenges to our business operations.

The other day while FaceTiming with my daughter who is away at college, I was reminiscing about my own time away at college. While I was at school, I wrote hand-written letters back home every week to keep in touch with my family. I called home every other week, but rationed my time on the phone since I was paying long distance phone charges. It’s hard to believe that barely over 20 years later, I am communicating with my own daughter not just every week, but every day and usually multiple times per day in real time via phone, text and video chat.
