GOALS OF THIS GUIDE

About LWCC’s Louisiana Loyal Service Project

More than a tagline, Louisiana Loyal is a movement to celebrate and elevate Louisiana. It drives our organization to better Louisiana one business and one worker at a time. We believe we can help Louisiana thrive through deliberate action such as service and volunteering. The Louisiana Loyal Service Project is a direct reflection of this, providing an opportunity to employees and agent partners to come together to make a difference through volunteerism.

Championing Louisiana through service: LWCC provides eight hours of paid volunteer time off on an annual basis to each employee. Corporate incentives like a Volunteer Time Off (VTO) program are one of many ways businesses can be Louisiana Loyal.

Let’s Make an Impact

This September, the Louisiana Loyal Service Project will support the Greater Baton Rouge Food Bank. LWCC will facilitate volunteer opportunities for employees and agent partners in the Baton Rouge area to reduce food insecurity in our region. Small actions we take together add up to elevate our state and drive the Louisiana Loyal movement forward.

Two Ways to Get Involved:

1. Host an office-wide food drive

September 1 – 16

Bring the spirit of service into your agency! Interested organizations can sign up to receive a collection bin and a list of most-needed food items. The Food Bank will collect bins and donated items directly from your office on September 19 or 20. In-office food drives are limited to organizations within the Food Bank’s eleven-parish footprint of Ascension, Assumption, East Baton Rouge, East Feliciana, Iberville, Livingston, Pointe Coupee, St. Helena, St. James, West Baton Rouge, and West Feliciana parishes.

LWCC will host an office-wide food drive with friendly competition and prizes for the floor collecting the most donations.

2. Volunteer with us

September 12 – 16

Roll up your sleeves and join LWCC employees and agent partners at one, or more, in-person volunteer opportunities. Volunteer shifts are first come, first served.

  • Warehouse Support: Serve in the repack room of the warehouse by separating food into assigned categories to prepare for distribution.
  • Family Night: Children four and older are welcome to join in this opportunity to sort and package donated items.

Join us for the Kickoff Event

Join LWCC and the Greater Baton Rouge Food Bank for a celebratory kickoff of the Louisiana Loyal Service Project. Leadership with LWCC and the Food Bank will welcome volunteers, share the importance of the project, and the need in the community. Volunteers will be provided a light breakfast, and will have the opportunity to pick up their Service Project t-shirt and food collection bins, if applicable.

2022 SERVICE PROJECT PARTNER

Greater Baton Rouge Food Bank

For more than 35 years, the Greater Baton Rouge Food Bank has served the hungry in Baton Rouge and the surrounding parishes. Food scarcity is a serious problem in Louisiana that is being exacerbated by rising prices and supply chain disruption. Food insecurity is a health and wellness issue at the individual level, and an economic vitality issue at the community level. LWCC’s Service Project aims to increase awareness of food insecurity and provide employees and agent partners the opportunity to meaningfully engage in bettering the community through service hours and donations.
