COVID-19 Telemedicine Update for Medical Providers
As we continue to respond to the COVID-19 pandemic and restrictions ease, LWCC wants you to know we are open 100% for business and are here to help you in any way we can.
To that end, LWCC fully supports the use of telemedicine services and will approve telemedicine visits for injured workers with their treating physicians. These visits will still require approval via the LWC-1010 form. If there are still evaluation and management visits remaining on an existing approved 1010 that you received from LWCC, you do not need to send a new LWC-1010 form for the telemedicine visit(s). For any new telemedicine evaluation and management requests, physicians should submit the LWC-1010 to LWCC via email at firstname.lastname@example.org or fax 888-560-5922.
When billing for telemedicine services, consideration should be given to the place of service on the bill and on appropriate modifiers. LWCC will permit the use of existing evaluation and management codes currently listed in the fee schedule. Please continue to attach the medical records to the bills for these telemedicine visits so we can stay updated on the patient’s progress. This will also ensure that we are reimbursing you appropriately for the services provided.
