Meet Moxi

Jenee Esquival has always understood the importance of the right outfit and its ability to make or break a woman’s confidence. From a young age, she loved the way she could not only express her style, but also elevate her mood based on her clothing selections.

“I am passionate about helping women feel confident in how they present themselves through every stage of life,” says Jenee. “Fashion, clothing, and style have always been a way for me to express myself and feel like I'm at my very best.”

Embracing her talent, Jenee pursued a B.A. from LSU in digital advertising and fashion merchandising, all while working at a long-established local clothing boutique. In her senior year, she formulated a business plan for her own store. After a chance conversation with a family member led to the offer of a business loan, Jenee began working full time to bring her plan to life. Shortly after her college graduation, she was already well on her way to success. While she may have founded Moxi at a young age, it seems to have been her destiny all along.

Supporting Louisiana Women

For Jenee, Moxi is so much more than a place to buy fashionable, moderately priced clothing. It’s a chance to help other women find the confidence needed to reach their goals, even if that goal is just a fun night out.

Jenee explains, “When I help a mom of three find the perfect dress for a much-deserved night out, or that college grad find her perfect graduation outfit, or that young professional put together a look for her first job interview, that is my joy. That is why I do what I do.”

Through her store and her expertise, Jenee is having a positive impact on the lives of women in Baton Rouge and beyond. Although Moxi was still fairly new at the time of the COVID pandemic, and the difficulties facing many retail outlets seemed insurmountable, Jenee not only thrived but found new ways to help others, donating face masks to healthcare workers and providing food at Woman’s Hospital.

As Jenee has paved her own path to success, she has relied on her partnership with LWCC in a number of ways.
