BATON ROUGE, La. (July 20, 2010)--Out of more than 3,000 property-casualty insurance companies nationwide, Louisiana Workers' Compensation Corporation (LWCC) has been named one of the 50 top performers for 2010. It is the ninth consecutive year LWCC has received the honor.
The Ward's 50 designations are issued annually by Ward Group, a Cincinnati-based management consulting firm acknowledged as the leading authority on benchmarking and best practices services for the insurance industry. Ward Group made the 2010 selections after analyzing the financial performance of over 3,000 U.S. property-casualty insurers over a five-year period, 2005-2009.
"On behalf of our policyholders, injured workers and agents, we at LWCC are proud to receive this national designation for yet another year," said Kristin W. Wall, LWCC's president and chief executive officer. "This demonstrates our financial strength and our commitment to providing excellent service to our customers."
Each Ward's 50 company has passed all safety and consistency screens and achieved superior performance over the five years analyzed.
"Most companies now understand the current economic situation and its impact on their business. However, the scars from the last two years are still affecting business decisions," explained Jeff Rieder, president of Ward Group. "It is important for companies to maintain a long-term vision throughout difficult business cycles. In selecting the Ward's 50, we identify companies that pass financial stability requirements and we measure their ability to grow while maintaining strong capital positions and underwriting results."
Among this year's Ward's 50 property-casualty companies are such familiar national names as Allstate Insurance Company, Fireman's Fund Insurance Group, GEICO and Travelers Insurance Group.
