LWCC and LBF Raise Over $38,000 for Kids’ Chance

WRITTEN BY

The 16th annual LWCC Kids’ Chance invitational golf tournament raised over $38,000 for the Louisiana Bar Foundation (LBF) Kids’ Chance Scholarship Program. The program is administered by LBF and provides scholarships to dependent children of Louisiana workers killed or permanently and totally disabled in a workplace accident. Since 2004, the program has awarded 306 scholarships totaling $719,600 to LBF Kids’ Chance Scholarship recipients.

“As a champion for Louisiana, our state’s businesses and workers, we are proud to support the Kids’ Chance Scholarship program,” stated LWCC President and CEO Kristin Wall. “We are grateful to our agent partners and other organizations who contributed funds to this event. Together we are able to make a positive impact on the future of Louisiana.”

Scholarship recipients and family members joined LWCC Senior Vice President & Chief Claims Officer Paul Buffone, LBF President Amanda W. Barnett, and LWCC Associate Attorney and LBF Kids’ Chance Committee Chair Matthew Richards for the check presentation.

“Kids’ Chance believes that we can make a calculated difference in the lives of children affected by a catastrophic workplace injury by giving them a chance, through direct financial assistance, to pursue and achieve their educational goals,” stated Richards.
