LWCC has always been Louisiana Loyal, since our founding in 1992. The company is able to celebrate and elevate Louisiana today because of our unique history, led by a storied and distinguished group of leaders. Among them we find Boysie Bollinger, a man whose business acumen is surpassed only by his philanthropic drive and whose heart for Louisiana and desire for good has led him to support and serve countless organizations, including our own.
When Governor Mike Foster vacated his seat on the LWCC board of directors, it was Boysie he appointed in his place. For two decades, Boysie’s guidance and innovation helped mold LWCC and directly impacted its success. His impact here alone is both significant and impressive, and yet, we represent just one of the hundreds of organizations where Boysie has astoundingly done the same.
Commitment to Philanthropy
He has a heart for education, special needs, and the general betterment of the community around him. He may have started by working inside his father’s shipyard, but today his work is philanthropy, and its bounds are limitless. According to Nola.com, Boysie’s financial contributions just in the state of Louisiana include the Audubon Zoo, the National WWII Museum, and a scholarship fund for students of low-income families.
Distinguished Honors
Just this year, Boysie has been bestowed with two significant honors, highlighting his legacy of humanitarianism. First, he was named to the Horatio Alger Association of Distinguished Americans, a group that provides privately funded scholarships to students who have overcome significant obstacles in the pursuit of their education. Like these recipients, the association’s hand-selected members exemplify perseverance, hard work, and integrity in all their pursuits, conducting themselves in such a manner that they have not only earned great success, but also immeasurable respect.
Shortly on the heels of that appointment, Boysie received a second distinguished honor as he was selected to receive the Times-Picayune Loving Cup. This prestigious award has been a mark of community dedication and benevolence since 1901. Each year, a New Orleanian who has made significant and unselfish contributions to the city and its citizens without concern for personal gain is selected as its recipient. With this honor, Boysie joins a list of esteemed past recipients that include former New Orleans Saints owner Gayle Benson, Archbishop Philip Hannan, and famed New Orleans chef Leah Chase.
