WRITTEN BY

BATON ROUGE, La. (October 30, 2018) The fifteenth annual LWCC Kids’ Chance invitational golf tournament raised over $40,000 for the Louisiana Bar Foundation (LBF) Kids’ Chance Scholarship Program. The program is administered by LBF and provides scholarships to dependent children of Louisiana workers killed or permanently and totally disabled in a workplace accident. Since its inception, the LWCC golf tournament has raised over $485,000, which has contributed to 290 scholarships totaling $664,100 awarded to LBF Kids’ Chance Scholarship recipients.

“We are proud to be a continued part of raising funds for these deserving students, and wish them continued success in meeting their academic goals,” stated LWCC President and CEO Kristin Wall. “Caring for the injured worker is an important part of our mission, and through Kids’ Chance we are able to make a difference in the lives of children who have been affected by workplace injury.”

Scholarship recipients and family members joined LWCC Senior Vice President & Chief Claims Officer Paul Buffone (left) and LWCC Associate Attorney and LBF Kids’ Chance Committee Co-Chair Matt Richards, LBF President Mike Street and Kids’ Chance Committee Co-Chair Sherry Watters for the check presentation.
