LWCC Raises $53,500 For Kids’ Chance, Helping Program Surpass $1 Million

Baton Rouge, La. (September 29, 2026) – LWCC, together with its agent and business partners, raised $53,500 this year in support of the Louisiana Bar Foundation’s Kids’ Chance Scholarship Program, helping push the program’s total amount raised to more than $1 million.

Of that total, $792,000 has been raised through LWCC events, reflecting a longstanding commitment from the organization and its partners to Louisiana workers and their families.

The fundraising effort culminated on Thursday, September 24, at LWCC’s annual Speaker Series, featuring renowned communications strategist, entrepreneur, and author Andy Cunningham. The event brought together business and community leaders to explore the power of positioning and storytelling while supporting Kids’ Chance.

The Kids’ Chance Scholarship Program provides higher education scholarships to dependent children of Louisiana workers who were killed or permanently and totally disabled as the result of a workplace accident. Since 2004, the program, which is administered by the Louisiana Bar Foundation, has awarded 361 scholarships totaling $1,020,359 to help students pursue higher education.

LWCC Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer Gretchen Hofeling and Senior Vice President and Chief Strategy Officer Seth Irby presented a $53,500 check to Louisiana Bar Foundation President Michael Mestayer. Kids’ Chance scholarship recipient Dani Trombatore also joined the presentation, representing the students and families whose lives are directly impacted by the program.

During the event, Andy Cunningham presented The Power of Positioning, drawing from decades of experience helping organizations define what makes them distinct and communicate their value more effectively.

Cunningham is founder and president of Cunningham Collective and author of Get to Aha!: Discover Your Positioning DNA and Dominate Your Competition. Her career includes helping Steve Jobs launch the Macintosh and advising companies and leaders on positioning, messaging, and communications strategy.

Following her presentation, Cunningham was joined on stage by Louisiana Economic Development Secretary Susan Bourgeois and LWCC Chief Information Officer Amanda Didier for Positioning Applied: Louisiana’s Moment, a discussion moderated by LWCC President and CEO, Kristin W. Wall. The conversation explored Louisiana’s current economic momentum and how businesses and leaders can position themselves for opportunity while helping tell a stronger story about the state.
