2020 has been a year of adversity and opportunities. On top of the direct health impacts of COVID-19 and subsequent economic hardships, Louisiana saw an active hurricane season which tested our entire state physically, financially, and emotionally, leaving many of us weary and wary. But through these hardships came the chance to give, rebuild, and revitalize our state, channeling a resiliency that is distinctly Louisiana.
At LWCC, we began the year aiming to instill pride, in our company and our state. While we were not immune to the challenges, as we reflect back on the year, we have so much to be proud of.
LOUISIANA LOYAL LAUNCH
In February, LWCC hosted a companywide meeting at Tiger Stadium to announce the launch of Louisiana Loyal, a mantra and a movement that drives everything we do.
EXPEDITED DIVIDEND DISTRIBUTION
Since the inception of LWCC’s dividend program, over $934 million has been distributed to Louisiana businesses, supporting over 14,000 jobs. In 2020, we expedited the distribution of $86 million to assist companies struggling with the economic impacts of COVID-19.
In March, the LWCC Foundation was launched with a mission to make Louisiana home to the safest and healthiest workforce in America.
The foundation immediately responded with Louisiana Well Again: COVID-19 Response Package, a $1.1 million grants and gift packages directly support Louisiana as it responds to and recovers from the impact of COVID-19, and to build future resiliency for all Louisiana workers.
For the 15th time, LWCC was named to Ward’s 50 group of top performing companies for outstanding financial results over a five-year period (2015-2019) ensuring LWCC policyholders that they are partnering with one of the best workers’ comp carriers in the nation.
Hurricane Laura had a devastating impact on Lake Charles and LWCC was happy to have the opportunity to quickly step in to directly help some of our agents and the surrounding community.
LWCC celebrates the people, businesses, and organizations who are share our commitment to bettering our beloved state.
For the third time, LWCC was recognized as one of the top 50 Best Places to Work in Baton Rouge. We appreciate that our employees and the community see the great strides we are taking and the impact it is having.
