Event Recap

OneDay 2026 showcased what can happen when employees are given the opportunity to apply their expertise in new ways and work across traditional boundaries. Designed to advance LWCC’s strategic plan, FORWARD, this year’s event focused time, talent, and energy on a smaller set of opportunities tied directly to organizational priorities.

Starting on May 18, 62 employees formed eight project teams and were given 24 hours to develop solutions aimed at strengthening stakeholder experiences, supporting sustainable growth, and helping position LWCC for the future. Project work culminated in five-minute pitch presentations on Tuesday, May 19.

Projects were presented to employees and evaluated by a distinguished panel of judges including LWCC President & CEO Kristin W. Wall, LWCC Board Chair Tommy Huval, and LWCC Board Vice Chair Rob Liles.

“Every year, OneDay leaves me inspired, and this year was no exception,” said Kristin W. Wall. “I continue to be amazed by what our team can accomplish when we come together. The ideas developed were thoughtful, creative, and grounded in the needs of our stakeholders. This work reminds us that creating value means continuously evolving how we serve and strengthening our ability to better Louisiana, one business and one worker at a time.”

Following presentations, judges selected the Judges’ Choice Award while employees voted to determine the People’s Choice winner.

The Winning Projects

While OneDay is designed to encourage connection, ownership, and purposeful problem solving across teams, employees and judges also recognize the concepts that stood out most. This year’s winners are:

Judges’ Choice Award: Leveraging AI at LWCC

This project explored how LWCC can better understand and demonstrate AI capabilities across the organization. The team identified practical use cases and opportunities to leverage existing, widely available AI tools and models to improve efficiency, streamline routine tasks, and unlock new ways of working.

People’s Choice Award: Non-English Speaking Policyholder Support

Focused on creating a more accessible and inclusive experience, this project explored opportunities to enhance resources and interactions for non-English speaking stakeholders, including thoughtful applications to improve communication and support.

Honorable Mention: Profitable Growth Engine

This team took a holistic look at how LWCC can support profitable growth through stronger alignment with agent partners. Their work explored opportunities to better incentivize growth, clarify target account opportunities, and strengthen stewardship practices to identify and cultivate high potential agency relationships.

The Path FORWARD

OneDay continues to demonstrate that some of LWCC’s strongest ideas emerge when employees are given the space to explore, test, and challenge what is possible. By creating opportunities to solve real business challenges together, LWCC strengthens experiences for employees and stakeholders while continuing to build FORWARD momentum.
