Lisa Huffty
Lisa’s work sits at the intersection of people, processes, and responsibility. As a Claims Specialist, she helps lead LWCC’s most complex and severe claims, bringing clarity, sound judgment, and steady guidance when the stakes are high.

Catastrophic Claims Leadership
Lisa is trusted with some of the most serious claims in the organization. She coordinates investigations, reviews medical information, and builds strategies that support the best possible outcomes for injured workers and LWCC policyholders.

A Human First Approach
Lisa has always believed claims work is about people. Much of her work happens directly with injured workers and their families, often in hospital settings, where empathy and clarity matter as much as process. She approaches each conversation with compassion, helping people feel supported in moments that can otherwise be overwhelming.
“Every claim represents a person, a family, and a business facing something unexpected. It is my responsibility to guide them with care, clarity, and the right decisions,” says Lisa.

Experience That Makes a Difference
Over more than 30 years at LWCC, Lisa has grown from a claims representative to a team leader and now a Claims Specialist, building deep institutional knowledge and industry expertise along the way. She is known for bringing the right people to the table, mentoring colleagues, and helping teams find thoughtful solutions in complex situations. As tools and best practices evolve, Lisa remains a steady source of guidance and accountability.
“I have had the chance to grow alongside LWCC. The guidance, trust, and opportunities I have been given have made all the difference,” she says.

Showing Up When It Counts
In one particularly complex case, Lisa worked with a family whose lives were upended by a catastrophic injury while far from home. She met with them early, built trust, and coordinated support across medical, legal, and operational teams to ensure their needs were addressed during an incredibly uncertain time. When plans were made for the injured worker to return to his home country, Lisa helped lead efforts to structure long-term support that would extend beyond immediate obligations, allowing the family to move forward with dignity, stability, and confidence. The outcome reflected how experience, collaboration, and compassion can come together to create stability when it matters most.
“In moments like that, you stop thinking about the process and start thinking about people. We were going to do everything we could to help them move forward,” Lisa shares.

Supporting Wellbeing and Balance
Lisa is actively involved in Cornerstone and the Wellness Committee, helping reinforce a workplace culture that prioritizes employee wellbeing across LWCC. As a regular Fitness Center member, she views working out as therapeutic and essential, a way to reset and stay focused in a role that can carry significant emotional demands. For Lisa, this benefit supports her personally and professionally, helping her show up each day with the energy and clarity needed to support others.
