Moxi Boutique

Jenee Esquival has always understood the importance of the right outfit and its ability to make or break a woman’s confidence. From a young age, she loved the way she could not only express her style, but also elevate her mood based on her clothing selections. Today, through Moxi Boutique, she helps others do the same.

Woman-Owned

Embracing her talent and long-time love of fashion, Jenee pursued a B.A. from LSU in digital advertising and fashion merchandising, all while working at an established local clothing boutique. In her senior year, she formulated a business plan for her own store. Little did she know that the wheels of fate were already in motion, propelling her forward as a young, insightful, female entrepreneur.

After a chance conversation with a family member led to the offer of a business loan, Jenee began working full time to bring her plan to life. Shortly after her college graduation, she was already well on her way to success.

Boosting Self-Confidence

Without passion, there is no Moxi, and Jenee’s passion is helping women feel confident in how they present themselves through every stage of life. Fashion, clothing, and style have always been a way for Jenee to feel her very best. At an early age she discovered that with the right outfit, she felt like she could do anything. That confidence is something that stuck with her and carries over into every interaction she has with customers today.

When anyone asks her about the best part of owning a boutique, she’s quick to respond, and it isn’t about the clothes. For Jenee, the best part comes from helping her patrons walk out Moxi’s doors feeling like the best version of themselves. Whether it’s helping a mom of three find the perfect dress for a much-deserved night out or a young professional put together a look for her first job interview, that’s the sweet spot where Jenee’s passion lives.

Always Relevant

It should come as no surprise that Jenee and the Moxi team are committed to keeping the store fresh, fun, modern, and fashionable. From visiting market a handful of times every year to staying on top of the latest trends, they’re always a reliable source for any local shopper. Beyond the clothing trends, however, Jenee keeps Moxi fresh with the latest industry standards. The boutique continues to expand its e-commerce presence, allowing it to reach far beyond Greater Baton Rouge, and has ambitious future goals for continued growth that could even include its own line of Moxi basics and closet staples.

Partnering with Industry Leaders

As Jenee has paved her own path to success, she has also relied on her partnership with LWCC, Louisiana’s largest workers’ comp provider, in a number of ways. While she’s never had to file a claim, she appreciates the security that her workers’ comp protection offers to both Moxi and its employees. It’s a business relationship she values and one that leaves her feeling that, while she may be investing in a policy, her policy provider is also investing in her - a fact that is never more evident than when she receives a dividend distribution. It’s a check that Jenee admits is nice to receive amidst the steady stream of invoices, and it’s cash that is immediately reinvested into the business in the form of new merchandise, overhead costs, or advertising expenses.

A lasting impact on Louisiana

$191B projected revenue

“As a small business owner, there are plenty of unexpected expenses that arise or bills that come in the mail. To have a company send back money is so refreshing! It’s always a happy day when the LWCC dividend comes in the mail. My colleague and I refer to the LWCC dividend as ‘pennies from heaven’ because it catches us off guard every year, but it’s a nice little surprise.”
